Dear SFACA Families:
I cannot believe how quickly this academic school year has just sped by! We are in the month of February and this month we will be celebrating Ash Wednesday and start preparing for Easter Sunday, the most joyous celebration of the Church!
Catholic Schools Week was a complete success! We have registered new families and will continue registration for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Spots are filling up quickly for many grades, so please make sure to complete the re-registration forms when they are sent home. In addition, NEW REGISTRATION for families will be held on February 6th and February 8th from 10-11 am and 1-2 pm.
Our Winter Flurry and Winter Blast Dances will be held on February 9th. There are two separate dances for grades 3-5 and 6-8. I am sure that there will be “SNOW” much fun at these dances. Thank you to Mrs. Hili and the Home Academy Association for providing all these fun activities.
Thank you to Mr. Isaac Soberal for coordinating and facilitating the visit from the NYPD and other first responders who protect and serve our community. The children thoroughly enjoyed and learned so much from our heroes who are committed to keep our community safe. It was very much appreciated!
Our 8th graders received their high school results. We are very proud of their hard work and we wish them great success as they decide which high school they may want to attend.
If you are interested in the Ridgewood Banking Program, a program where students get their own “savings book”,please contact the office and the paperwork will be sent home.
We congratulate Monsignor Maresca on his 46th Anniversary of the Priesthood. We are grateful for all his wisdom, dedication to our school, and his spiritual guidance throughout these years at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy.
Our Robotics Program for grades 2-8 begins this month. This will be an exciting opportunity for the students and we are looking forward for them to learn new and interesting things.
A few gentle reminders:
Kindly remember that there should be NO SMOKING on school grounds. Please refrain from smoking near the school and church premises, especially near our students and families. In addition, please be mindful of double parking and blocking the yellow school busses in the front of the school. Our children’s safety is always our priority. Please remember that there should be no running or playing around the church or the steps after dismissal. Thank you for your cooperation.
Ms. Elizabeth Reilly, Faculty, and Staff
