September 2023 News and Calendar

Dear SFACA Families:

 WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL!

We welcome all our students and their families back to school! We hope that you all had a wonderful and safe summer. As we begin our new academic school year 2023-2024, we wish all our families an abundance of God’s blessings and best wishes for a successful school year! I am very happy to join the SFACA family as your new principal.

Our school year began on Wednesday, September 6th. It was so nice to see their happy faces returning to school. The general Parent Orientation meeting for grades K-8 begins at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, September 13th at 6:30 pm.  However, Mrs. Kubina will meet her 8th Grade parents in her classroom that evening at 6:00 pm. She notified her parents of the time change.

On September 11th at 8 am, we will be having a 9/11 Prayer Service in the school yard before the students go into the school building. We welcome all parents to participate in this prayer service in remembrance of this day.

We would also like to invite all families to join us for our opening school mass, sponsored by grade 8 on Friday, September 15th at 9:00 am. There will be the installation of our new Student Council members. We hope that you will able to join us in prayer as we begin our new academic school year.

We are excited to announce that the 14th Annual SFA Parish and Academy Fall Festival will be held on September 30th.

Please bring your family to join us for a day of fun, food, and entertainment. You will also have the opportunity to win some fabulous prizes. It will be a wonderful day!

A few gentle reminders:

  • Students need absence notes to be given to their teacher on the day they are to return indicating the reason for their absence.
  • Students are to remember to bring all books needed for homework because NO student is permitted to return to the classroom after they dismiss from school.
  • If a student is absent and books are needed to complete class work/homework, please call the office and request the materials. Please also notify the teacher so the materials may be sent down in sufficient time for the teacher to prepare the materials requested. Please contact the office and the teacher before 10 am.
  • Raffles are due Wednesday, September 22nd .

Kindly remember that there should be NO SMOKING on school grounds. Please refrain from smoking near the school and church premises, especially near our students and families. In addition, please be mindful of double parking and blocking the yellow school busses in the front of the school. Our children’s safety is always our priority. Please remember that there should be no running or playing around the church or the steps after dismissal. Thank you for your cooperation.

As always, please feel free to contact us if there are any questions or concerns throughout the year.

Have a blessed September.

Sincerely,
Ms. Elizabeth Reilly, Faculty, and Staff
